Autumn Preparations in Planica

Autumn preparations took place in the valley under the Ponce Mountains as the organizers of OC Planica meet with the team from RTV Slovenia.

Last week, autumn preparations took place in the valley under the Ponce Mountains as the organizers of OC Planica, together with the team from RTV Slovenia, carried out an on-site inspection of the technical and organizational facilities at the legendary Brothers Gorišek Flying Hill in Planica.

Site Inspection

The RTV Slovenia TV crew was invited for a professional tour of the venue, where the current status of the infrastructure was presented, including the inrun track, landing area, and supporting facilities. The organizers also outlined plans for the competition and entertainment programs, confirming that preparations are in their final phase. The goal is to ensure optimal conditions for athletes and spectators ahead of the new winter season.

Competition Program

As part of the preparations, Planica will once again host the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup Finals. The competitions will take place from Thursday, March 26, to Sunday, March 29, 2026, featuring both men’s and women’s individual and team events.

Entertainment Program

Alongside top-level competition, Planica will also offer a rich side program. The Arena of Fun will host daily musical performances, family activities, local culinary offerings, and athlete meet-and-greets. In cooperation with nearby communities, evening events will also take place in Rateče and Kranjska Gora, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the valley.

Significance and Expectations

During the site visit, the organizers and representatives from RTV Slovenia emphasized their shared goal: to deliver an outstanding sporting and social event that unites athletes, fans, and visitors from around the world. Autumn preparations are progressing according to plan, and Planica is once again getting ready for a spectacular season finale — a celebration of flight, tradition, and the spirit of winter sports.
