Kranjec impressed more than 8.000 children in Planica

Planica - Robi Kranjec impressed more than 8.000 children today in Planica with 228 meters in qualufication round. He won qualification for friday's competitions ahead of Anders Bardal and Anders Jacobsen from Norway.

Planica - Robi Kranjec impressed more than 8.000 children today in Planica with 228 meters in qualufication round. He won qualifications for friday's competitions ahead of Anders Bardal and Anders Jacobsen from Norway.

Kranjec has the longest flight already in training round, when he flew 217 meters. In training round we saw two falls by Fumihisha Yumoto from Japan and Pascal Bodmer from Germany, but fortunatley there was no severe consequences. Bodmer has a sprained shoulder and will be immobilized for three weeks while Yumoto has a blunt wrist injury. In qualification round  we saw another fall, this time from Noriaki Kasai who recieved a blow to the rib area and has bruised right flank.

Robi Kranjec immpressed slovenian crowd in Planica today two times. After great flight in training round he made an impressive flight in qualification round and he landed at 228 meters. »Today I am very pleased with my performances. Qualification jump was really good, nice and smooth, just like I wanted the whole season. I think it would be possible to fly over 240 meters but only with really good weather conditions;« said Kranjec. Anders Bardal flew one meter shorter than slovenian record holder, while Anders Jacobsen landed at 210.5 meters.

Tomorrow we will start with trial round at 2.15 pm. First round will start at 3.15 pm.
