Norwegian team wins in front of 25,000 spectators

Planica has once again proved to be the greatest Slovenian sporting event. Approximately 25,000 spectators gathered at the outrun of the flying hill. The beautiful sunny weather was also favourable to the jumpers and enabled them good thermal conditions for the long flights.

The Norwegian team pulled up the best show in today's team competition. Tom Hilde, Anders Jacobsen, Anders Bardal and Bjoern Einar Romoeren all flew over 210 metres in both rounds. The Finns were second and the Austrians third. The longest was again Gregor Schlierenzauer, who improved for 1 metre over the yesterday’s personal best, and the Austrian record, with the 233.5 metres long flight.

The Slovenian jumpers, Primož Pikl, Jurij Tepeš, Robert Kranjec and Jernej Damjan, finished on the excellent fourth place. They had been on the third place and ahead of the Austrian team right until the last flight. At the end, they lost the bronze medal for 5 points or 4 metres.
