Double victory for France and Germany

The three-day long FIS Cross-Country OPA COC in Planica began with individual competitions in classic technique.

German Helen Hoffmann had won the junior 5km race ahead of Swiss Siri Wigger and compatriot Germana Thannheimer. The best Slovenian athlete, Hana Mazi Jamnik, finished 11th with a gap of 54.6 seconds behind the winner, while Klara Mali finished 20th, Tia Janežič one place behind her with a career best and Lucija Medja in 25th place.

Frenchman Mathis Desloges won the junior 10-km race just ahead of Swiss Fabrizi Albasini and German Jannis Grimmecke. Three Slovenians were amongst those who received cup points. Jošt Mulej finished 21st, Atila Peček 26th and Izidor Karničar 30th place.

German cross-country skier, Lisa Lohmann, won the 10-km competition while the Swiss Desiree Steiner came in second with only a minute gap. Third was Italian Nicole Monsorno. Slovenian Petra Race won six points and ended up in 25th place.

Men's 15-km race was won by Frenchman Jules Chappaz ahead of his compatriot Theo Schely, third place was taken by Italian Simone Dapra, and the only Slovenian, Boštjan Korošec, finished 22nd.
