Planica live only on TV and Radio

Today we have made a final decision that the FIS Ski Flying World Championships will take place without spectators. Sadly this decision also includes the idea of welcoming people in the valley under the Ponce mountains with drive-in.

The decision was made on the basis of measures by the Government of Slovenia to limit the spread of the coronavirus disease SARS CoV-2 (COVID-19) in the Republic of Slovenia and also with regret, as in Planica the spectators are the ones who give the event the necessary atmosphere. But it’s also understandable that primarily we all need to take care of the health of all of us.

Despite that Planica remains the biggest Slovenian sporting festival which will be broadcasted to numerous countries and millions of viewers all over the world.

For the first time in history the competition on the brothers’ Gorišek flying hill will take place under reflectors. This technically difficult project will come to life together with a specialized company Stichaller from Austria. Without the help from long-lasting partners, the FIS and the EBU, this project wouldn’t be possible, so we truly thank them.

Ticket buyers will be subsequently informed about the exchange options for the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup competition in March in accordance with applicable law.

Despite the demanding weather conditions, the preparatory work at the venue is proceeding according to plan, so we can once again expect an unforgettable spectacle.
