Bjoernstad the best in PCR in Planica

The third edition of the FIS Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix in Planica has started. 57 athletes from 14 nations jumped in the provisional competition round on the Bloudek giant hill. Espen Bjoernstad of Norway came out on top with a jump of 136 meters.

The finals of the summer season started in poor weather which hasn’t had an effect on Bjoernstad who gathered 134 points and will potentially have a 22 second advantage over his teammate Jens Luraas Oftebro, who came in second (132 m., 128.6 p.). The overall standings leader Austrian Franz-Josef Rehrl had a good start in the valley under the Ponce mountains. He landed at 133 meters and gathered 125.7 points, which means a 33 second deficit.

The best home representative was Rok Jelen who finished in 30th place (118.5 m., 102.9 p.), Vid Vrhovnik was 37th, Ožbej Jelen 38th and Gašper Brecl 45th.
