World Snow Day
Planica is beginning a new story in 2012
We have come to the point, where we will transform this sporting destination into a modern Nordic center. Development of the most modern facilities is a foundation for organization of competitions on a highest level. Nordic World Championship 2017, for which we are a candidate, belongs in this category and will be the first major world championship in winter sports that could be organized in Slovenia. We are proud to say that Petra Majdič and Franci Petek are the official ambassadors of the 2017 candidacy and great supporters of the story of Planica.
We have begun the story of Planica with World Snow Day, which occurred around the world on Sunday the 22nd of January. On this day Planica opened Snow Land and in the vicinity of the flying hill offered a unique experience on snow with multiple activities to several hundreds of children.

Together with Franci Petek, children have tested Elan's jumping skis and beside jumping cross-country was in the forefront. Children have tested their skills in broomball, they've tried to find their way in labyrinth and have descended downhill with tubes.
All these activities will now be available to pupils of primary schools, who will participate in support of 2017 candidacy. Snow Land will host sports days until 20th of February.
